How do FIRST Team Partnerships work?

Because outreach is an incredibly important and unique aspect of FIRST robotics, Kits4Cause works with FIRST teams (FLL, FTC, FRC) by providing teams with our kits for FREE. Preparing for FIRST competitions can often be expensive, so partnering with us allows teams to focus on creating fun and educational workshops rather than the costs.

Steps to Partner

Fill out this form to show your team would like to partner with us. We will review your application and email you regarding whether or not your team is approved for partnership.
Your FIRST team reaches out to local schools, organizations, etc. where workshops can be held.
When your team finds a workshop you would like to host, you will fill out a form (this form will be sent to you once your team is approved) with information such as the date of the workshop, the number of students in the workshop, and more. Depending on the estimated number of kits needed, we will work with you to determine the date these kits will arrive at your location. We will try our absolute best to get these kits to you as soon as possible!
Around 1 week prior to the workshop, the kits will be shipped to your team’s location so your team has time to organize the kits for the workshop and familiarize yourself with the kits.
Host an amazing workshop! Workshops are usually 40-60 minutes long. Our kits come with instructions manuals for each student, so we recommend the following structure for workshops:
- Introduce your team and team members
- Talk a little about FIRST and why you are passionate about it
- Pass 1 kit and 1 instructions manual to each student
- Tell the students to follow the instructions manual and raise their hands if they have any questions
- Walk around helping the students
- Save 5-10 minutes at the end of the workshop to allow the students to play with their robots
